I visited Performance for some open play on a Friday morning. I thoroughly enjoyed the venue. The layout of the courts created a perfect opportunity to meet new players and jump in a new game. It was also nice that the open play was skill regulated. The people were welcoming and warm. On my way out, I stopped at the bar for a salad and a cold drink. It was a perfect experience to continue conversation with people I previously met on the courts. The lighting of the courts (especially in the NVZ) wasn’t the best. But I was able to adjust and calibrate my depth of field after about 30 minutes of play. It’s a great place for some pickle ball, otherwise.

Great venue, even better staff. Everyone here β€œgets it” and cares about your experience. Love that they have a bar area to socialize and relax after play as well. There’s lot of pickleball facilities around, but this one stands out for a reason.

I went here to teach my family how to play pickleball. The way they schedule courts is a little different - you either reserve a whole court for a specific time or you show up for a time slot and rotate out with other random people who have signed up for the same time slot. It’s a nice way to meet people I suppose but I could imagine the matchmaking not being the best in terms of experience/skill. I reserved a court for 2 hours. When we arrived there were other players on our court but they quickly left the court when they saw that we had it reserved. One thing I didn’t love were the random people asking if we were finished with the court or if they could hop in. Usually I’d be all for some mixed games but the person who approached was a little aggressive and it was obvious that I was on a court of beginners trying to teach the game. Other than those few hiccups, our time was great. The courts are in perfect condition, the facility was very clean, and the bar area was nice and quaint. They also had a cool feature where you could record your game and play it back. If I lived closer I would definitely come back!

Just played in the PickleBoo tournament at Performance Pickleball RVA, and I was blown away by the facility and the staff! The playing surface was top-notch – perfect for competitive play – and the atmosphere was fantastic. They have a fully stocked bar and a great food selection, which made the experience even better. The pro shop was impressive, too, with a wide range of gear and supplies. I was thrilled to see they even carried FLOWKAPS from PicklElite, my go-to pre-workout for pickleball. Highly recommend Performance Pickleball RVA for any level of play – they truly have everything you need for a great time on the court!

Beautiful facility, well designed, and quickly has become the go-to place to play in the city. There's curated play so that you're not hanging around the park getting mismatched skill level groups and multiple pros on staff to assist with instruction and clinics. Then afterwards head to the Kitchen RVA to get a drink and order some food, which is quite good and is also becoming an excellent lunch option in the Regency area.
